Cake is usually the highlight of an event or celebration and many clients wonder what to expect from their consultation or orders and understandably so. My goal is that each consultation be stress-free, creative and resulting in a cake that is uniquely yours. We will work together to create a masterpiece worthy of your celebration.
Below are answers to questions that are asked quite frequently, but if you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
+ Can I order custom cakes online?
All our bespoke cakes are custom-made to individual specifications as such we are unable to take orders online. Our website is designed to introduce our style and services. Please schedule a consultation to discuss your needs and design a creation that fits your style or event. You can request a consultation here.
+ How much does a custom cake cost?
There is no set price for bespoke cakes as prices are reflective of many variables. Cake prices vary based on number of servings, intricacy of design and design elements, and other choices. Our cakes pricing starts at $6 per serving (the basis pricing for most bakeries) with a minimum of 20 servings or $120 for celebration cakes. Wedding cakes are $600 minimum and novlety or sculpted cakes start at $250 minimum. After your consultation we will give you a final quote for your cake.
+ Can you replicate a design I saw online?
Your event is unique and so are you. We prefer to create a cake that is uniquely yours. However, we are happy to use the design as inspiration in creating a cake just for you.
+ Do you make gluten free cakes?
Unfortunately we are unable to provide gluten free cakes at this time, although we may in the future. May we suggest if you have dietary constraints that you consider ordering a smaller cake to meet those needs and then order a larger traditional cake for the rest of your guests to enjoy. + When should I order my cake?
We encourage you to order your cake as soon as you have a date set for your event or celebration. However, we need a 2 week notice for celebration cakes and at least 3 months for wedding cakes. Most couples book their cakes within 6 - 12 months of their wedding date. On occasion, depending on availability, we will accept a last minute order. Please note that in all instances we cannot guarantee prices or availability until your order is secured with the requisite deposit.
+ Can I make changes after I have placed my order?
We will try and accommodate any changes where possible. However, we cannot guarantee to do so and reserve the right to adjust the price quoted for any extra work required. Even so we are unable to make any changes within seven days of the delivery/collection date for celebration cakes or within three weeks of the wedding date.
+ Can I cancel my order?
If you wish to cancel your cake order you must give us a four week minimum notice for wedding cakes and two weeks for all other orders. Please note that deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Alternatively, we will be happy to give you credit towards a future order if you cancel within the minimum time frame and your next order falls within 6 months of your cancelled order. We reserve the right to deny refunds after the minimum time frame.
+ Do you provide sketches of cake designs?
At the end of your consultation with us, we are happy to give you a sketch of your cake for a $50 fee that will be applied toward your order once it is placed.
+ Do your provide cake tastings?
At the time of scheduling your consultation, we will be happy to schedule a tasting for you. Please mention if there are any flavors you would like to sample. There is a $25 charge for cake tasting which is applied to the order if you go ahead with us and place an order above $500. If you order a wedding cake secured with a deposit with us, we will waive the cake tasting fee. Please note that our consultation and cake tasting is set for two people and lasts about an hour. There will be an upcharge of $25.00 per person extra.
+ Do you deliver?
All wedding cake orders include a setup and delivery surcharge. We are happy to deliver any other orders for a fee.

Customer Service
Orders
Cake, cupcake and other confectionery orders can be placed online, by email or over the phone. Information about customization options, minimum orders and lead-times can be found in the relevant product description section in our online shop. Please note all wedding cake and custom celebration orders are by consultation only. Changes to Existing Orders
If you would like to make changes to an existing order, please notify us within 72 hours of delivery/collection 6-inch layer cakes, cupcakes and other confectionery.
All cakes larger than 6-inches require a 1 week notification. Please note that this does not apply to bespoke cakes. Refer to your contract for guidance on all custom orders. Changes may be subject to extra charges.
Client Pick-Up/Collection
Cakes, cupcakes and confectionery orders can be collected from our location address, BottegaLulu Cakes, 192 Langdon Farm Cir, Odenton MD 21113. We are open every day of the week except Sundays from 10am to 6pm. Simply choose ‘collection’ as well as your preferred date and time when placing your order online, over the phone or by email.
Clients are required to provide a valid order confirmation number and sign a disclaimer note upon collection to confirm the order is received in good condition. Once collected, the responsibility for any damage lies with the customer.
If a client is unable to collect an order in time, we will gladly hold it for up to 24 hours to allow you sufficient time to rearrange a collection time. Unfortunately, we cannot hold a cake longer than 24 hours. Please note that we do not offer refunds or replacements for orders that have not been collected within 24 hours after the agreed date and time.
Cancellation
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds on deposits for bespoke cakes. However, if you give us a 4 week notice for wedding cakes or a 2 week notice for a celebration cake we may offer you credit at our discretion. All other cake, cupcake and confectionery orders require a one week notice for credit.
Returns & Refunds
We always prepare, pack and deliver your product(s) with the utmost care and ask that you check your order before signing your delivery/disclaimer note. In the unlikely event that you find your order is incorrect, incomplete or damaged on delivery, please inform us immediately on 443-569-2793 with proof of purchase and photographic evidence and we will do our best to send a replacement or refund depending on the order. We do not accept liability or offer refunds for products that are signed for and picked up. We absolutely do not accept returns under any circumstances.
